Like I really needed a hole in my head...

I feel like I've lost my writing mojo lately. 

Apparently most of it was contained in my bottom left rear molar. 

This molar. 

The molar that was removed three weeks ago.

At first I was in too much pain to write. Because I felt like this:

The pain is gone, but the hole is still there. 

And, I'm still looking for my writing mojo. I'll be back as soon as I find it!

If you can't wait, I think I forgot to tell you I wrote a little something here a few weeks ago.

I made the papers! And not because I was arrested or found running around the neighborhood nekkid!

Just in case you missed it, my latest Philly Moms Blog post, Return Receipt Requested?. I tackled the issue of the Russian boy that was "sent back" to Russia by the woman that adopted him last September. I'm very excited because it was one of two SVMG posts that was picked up by the McClatchy Company and syndicated in their 30 daily newspapers last Monday. To say I was excited is an understatement.

I also want to link to the post Parents Need Advocacy Too on the DC Metro Moms Blog, which is my inspiration for what I think will be my next post on PMB.

Am I like the biggest tease ever?

I'm sorry guys, I see you keep coming back looking for an update and there is nothing here. I plan on having a post up on the Philly Moms Blog sometime tomorrow. I'll link to it just as soon as its up. I just want to make sure I do right by the subject, so it is taking me longer to write than I thought.

Does this make me a published author?

You know, I'm really not one to blow my own horn. I think boasting about ones self is so unbecoming, don't you? I mean really, is it necessary to brag about your accomplishments?

Uhhhhh...HELL YEAH!


It is when you get something published! Like for reals published. In a book you can BUY! Even if it is only two pages. But we don't really need to talk about that part of it.

So, umm...yes. You can see some of my writing in Kimberley Clayton Blaine's (the Go-To Mom) new book:

The part of the book that I wrote is titled "The emotional power of Twitter." It's a very serious post about finding out that a wonderful little girl, Maddie, had passed away suddenly and quite unexpectedly.*

Not to detract from the seriousness of that post and the emotion I was trying to express in it, later in the book is a chapter about an email exchange Kimberley and I had several months ago and how it led her to visit my blog when I was reviewing a blue vibrator. So, although I only wrote one of the chapters, another one talks about my blog and links to it. 

Of course I ordered my copy (you can buy it here btw). It arrived Friday and I've come close to devouring the book. It's good! The rest of it I mean, not just my two pages! It's a combination of blog posts like mine and interviews from successful women who have built a career online. It's a great combination of entertaining and informative. I am honored to be a part of this "Circle of Moms."  

You really should buy the book! It's only $12.95 on Amazon.  You won't regret it! And don't forget to skip right to page 33 first!

Housekeeping! and a little bit of teasing!

No, this is not an announcement that I have cleaned the house. Sorry Rich. And you probably aren't getting lucky tonight either. Really sorry!

It is however a quick post with some updates for MNT and my wonderful readers!

1. We are implementing a new behavior program with Noah and I'm going to be blogging about it on a new site I'm setting up. Stay tuned for more information! This a big deal for our family and I'm very excited to be working with Debra Sale Wendler the Respect Effect Mom. I met her on Twitter as @adhdparenting. So far I'm very impressed with the program even though it is a lot of work and at times it scares the hell out of me because it's making ME change a lot about myself and how I parent. So seriously, stay tuned!

2. I'm going to be featured in Blog Nosh Magazine this Thursday! More information and links to that later this week!

3. I'm in a book! I know!!!! Squeee! It's coming out in November. More information about that soon too!
