Show and Tell

Week two of my Show and Tell! Amazing, I'm following through with something...

Today I thought I'd show the baby/adoption announcement we did for The Boy. I put a lot of thought and time into writing it. I wanted the words to be perfect. I took the picture too, but it has always driven me a little crazy because his right eyebrow is messed up (from food I imagine). When I took it I was not intending on it being for the announcement, but I just loved his smile so much in it.

Now, ask me if I've done an announcement for Baby Brother. Go ahead, ask. 'Cause the answer is nope. And for the life of me I can't figure out why. He was six months old last week and I've done nothing about it. Is there a time frame for sending out birth announcements?

Believe me, it in no way reflects the love I have for him. In fact, its another post entirely comparing my feelings for him and my feelings for The Boy.

  1. I don't think there is a time limit - we ddn't sent Maddie's announcements out until she was five months old.

  2. I didn't send out any for Alex, either.

  3. No time limit at all--well, maybe you should do it before the child hits five ;)

  4. Hi! Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog (NCLM). If you find out the secret to being a good harem girl, please let me know!

I was reading your post about your co-workers finding and visiting your blog. That sucks. What a PITA to have to up sticks and move everything just to get your privacy back. It is a shame they have no willpower to do as you ask and stay away...

  5. I think your announcements are lovely. I don't think that there is a time limit. And if there is... there shouldn't be. There shouldn't be a time limit on sharing happiness with people! (Just my two cents)

Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog!

  6. Yep, the first gets all the cool stuff. I think there is a commercial that says something like: we buy all the expensive stuff the first time around and by the time the second comes "We get over it". But dont feel bad, I did not even do a baby book for my Stress 2. Yep - mother of the year right here kids.
Go ahead and do that announcement - if nothing else it will let him know he was just as important as PA. I know my Stress 2 got hurt feelings when he was old enough - and by then it was too late to do anything about it. Just an opinion.

  8. Thanks for stopping by to visit my blog for NaComLeavMo!

I love the Show and Tell for today - adorable! And if it were me, I'd do the 2nd announcement within the next few months ... like Deb said, it could cause hurt feeling later.

As a side not, if my mom did that, my sister would have been mortified - she's the younger one, and the one who always counted pictures throughout the house to make sure there weren't more of me than of her! ~LOL~ Luckily she grew up into a wonderful person despite that. :)

  13. Cute announcements!
I hope there's no time limit, because my twins are 12.5 weeks old, and I just made the inside labels yesterda and still have to pick and print a picture! :)
    Thanks for visiting!

  14. Your family is beautiful. There is no time limit - remember you're more busy (with 2 kids) than you were when you brought Alexi home.

Sorry to hear about the co-workers. I had some issues early on in my career with creating work friendships, so as I aged I vowed to keep work matters at work and not make friends there. It's easier and safer that way.

Thanks for commenting on my blog.

  17. I didn't send out a birth announcement nor an adoption announcement. It really bothers me that I didn't do anything for that. I say it's never to late. Send one out for Prince Nathaniel. Thank you for visiting my blog!!

  23. That's the problem with being the second! I don't even think I have any pictures of my second child. (I kid, I kid!)

It's never too late - well, maybe it is when they are starting Kindergarden. :D
