Show and Tell

For the last several years when ever a friend or coworker has a baby I've crocheted a blanket for them. It's slowed down a bit over the last year between Baby Brother and the pesky tendinitis in my wrists that just won't quite go away. In fact I have yet to start one for my best friends little boy, who was born over a month ago. Maybe by Christmas...

Anyway, here is one I just finished for TB's teacher. She had a little girl in April. I also got her the most adorable little pink dress. Hopefully it will still fit considering how long it has taken me to finish the blanket.

  1. Really beautiful. I cant imagine the time and technique it takes to do that. I always loved the handmade things I got when Ella was born. They seem to mean that much more.

  2. Hooray for crochet! Those stinky knitters are always hogging the glory. :)

I've been crocheting since 1996, but also slowed down after having kids - as you can tell from my blog I've stuck to sewing/quilting, but I am contemplating crocheting a hobo bag out of strips of plastic grocery bags. Insanity, I tell you.

  4. Very beautiful. A hand made gift sure to be cherished forever. My niece went home from the hospital wearing a pair of booties crocheted for my mother all those many moons ago.

  7. The blanket is gorgeous and I love the color too! What pattern did you use? I crochet and knit and always love the baby blankets with the old fashioned "swag". :0)

Beautiful job - I am sure the recipient will love it!

My MIL also crochets & I can't wait until we have a baby for her to make all sorts of booties, hats, and blankets for!
