He said what? - episode 173

Over the last couple weeks Noah has asked us a few times who Jesus Christ is. It's a very interesting question for us to answer, considering Rich is Jewish, and I'm a heathen.

I'm not sure if he's been interested because he's heard us say it a few too many times recently, or because of a commercial that's been playing on TV.

The other day he asked us what Jesus Christ's last name was.

How wrong is it that I told him it was "Superstar?"

*************

Wednesday Noah wasn't feeling well so I let him stay home from school and took him in to work with me for a few hours. I had a couple meetings that I really couldn't miss and I figured he was just sick enough he might be able to actually sit there and play quietly during them.

He did great! I was really proud of him. Noah sick is a very enjoyable Noah to be with. Sad to say, I know.

Anyway, during one of the meetings I noticed he was grabbing his crotch. I learned towards him to ask if he had to go to the bathroom. He very matter of fact said to me, "No, my penis is just big."

Ahh, if only I had a dollar for every time a guy sitting next to me in a meeting said that.

  1. I am a lurker but couldn't resist commenting here. My son is 4 and I can't tell you how many times he has said to us "Wow! My penis is getting really big!" Thank goodness I am not the only one.

  2. The joys of raising Jewish/heathen kids in a Christian world! When he's older and the kids at school start talking, THAT's when it gets interesting.

  3. I always feel guilty when thinking of my children and religion. As a Catholic mom to three Catholic children, everything falls on my shoulders. I'm O.K. with religious education--signing them up for classes, taking them to classes, and helping them with homework, but I am not up for theological discussions -- even with my 5 yo. I'm not sure if it is a lack of confidence or not wanting to give them the wrong answer, but I feel uncomfortable answering questions. I do answer but not from a position of authority.

This may be a nosey question, but how long were you blogging before you became a BlogHer network ad person? I ask because I have only been blogging 3 months or so, filed an application, and haven't heard. I don't have many readers, so I guess if I did carry BlogHer ads I wouldn't make much money. I also wonder rhetorically, of course... Do bloggers make money from ads??

  4. Ha! I just love poping over here for a boy fix!!! You know me - all girls all the time in this household. Yet, I have to admit, if one came home and reported a boy at school uttering that statment I would be a bit dumbfounded for a response.
